9130 Organic Commandment

by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959)

11 1/4" x 8 5/8"

Frank Lloyd Wright's theories and artwork profoundly enriched the field of architecture and design. In his lifetime, he designed hundreds of structures and over 500 were built. His concept of "Organic Architecture" offered a fresh alternative to the European-style box like buildings which dominated the United States for two centuries. Wright introduced floor plans as open as the prairie itself, and exhibited a fiercely American spirit demanding that each building be individually designed for the inhabitants. The Organic Commandment, written by Wright in 1940, summarizes Wright's far-reaching inspirational ideology.
