286 Country Morning Bluebirds
by James Hautman
6 1/2" diameter round
No Winter lasts forever, no Spring misses its turn. On this country morning, the bluebirds herald the new season. You can almost smell the fresh air the season brings along with the spontaneous burst of wild flowers and green leaves.
Bluebirds (Sialia Sialis) live in pastures, orchards and parks. They often build their nests in protected spaces as in woodpecker holes and birdhouses. The nest is made of coarse grasses and lined with soft materials such as feathers and grasses.
The Hautman Brothers find Spring to be their favorite season. All three of the Hautman brothers have received numerous honors and awards, and have dominated many state and national duck stamp competitions. James, Robert and Joseph have seen their art featured in over 40 state and federal stamps. Their work has received national accolades and been personally presented to the President in the Oval Office, and is a part of the permanent collection of The Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C. They are America's foremost wildlife artists.
