Stained Glass Photography

This week's unusual website shows off stunning stained glass windows from the UK and the US, all photographed by Neil Ralley. He has a particular interest in 19th- and 20th-century designs by important artists and glassmakers such as William Morris, Edward Burne-Jones and Louis Comfort Tiffany. Of particular interest to photographers is the 'Presentations, Notes & Other Information' section, which explains how the window designs were captured on film. Professionals tackling an elevated stained glass window may well come armed with stepladders and shift lenses. Ralley takes a different approach, using long lenses, a heavy tripod and carrying out a few tweaks afterwards on computer if necessary. His ultimate aim is for this site to become the definitive online visual reference to modern stained glass.
